It is 13 years since the tragic and senseless murder of Sophie Lancaster; and 10 years since I wrote the first edition of Weirdo Mosher Freak.

In 2016, I was approached by RJ Parker who had read my book and offered to rebrand, recover and relaunch – it became The Sophie Lancaster Story.

Now, he has ceased publishing books, the rights have returned solely to me and it seemed like a good time to review the book, update the original, including creating a new cover with a more striking design.

It was the chance to bring the story up to date and to review how the original was written; I was in a very different place in 2010 having just opted for redundancy the year before, and I was in my first year of self-employment. A tricky time for anyone.

It was a very long process, thank goodness for lockdown. I collated new information as some people now felt more able to discuss the crime and the perpetrators, researched where things were up to and updated the original manuscript considerably.

Here is a link to the new version – Weirdo. Mosher. Freak.

I still sell autographed brand-new copies of the 2010 original via Ebay or Amazon

Since writing the story, proceeds from the sales of books have raised nearly £2,000 for The Sophie Lancaster Foundation.
