National charity reaches out in Rossendale

via bob webA national charity for ex-servicemen and women has opened outreach services in Rossendale.

Veterans In Action has picked Rossendale because of its topography and access to leisure pursuits and is looking to establish a permanent base in the borough.

While it secures a centre, VIA has obtained funding from The Poppy Factory to pay for an outreach worker to run sessions in the three main towns of Haslingden, Rawtenstall and Bacup to help people back into life on Civvy Street.

Rossendale charity REAL is supporting VIA and as part of Catherine Smyth Media's contract with the charity a news story was produced, which can be read by following the link to About My Area community website. It was also printed in the Rossendale Free Press on 2 December.
